How do I get my User ID?

Your user ID is the ID associated with the service through which you were recruited. There are two ways to obtain your user ID

If you are coming from MTurk, your ID is your MTurk Worker ID.

If you are coming from CloudResearch or Connect, your ID is your Connect ID.

How do I register and activate the extension?

After you install the extension, use the User ID provided and do the following

  1. On the extension Home tab, enter the User ID in the field Enter your User ID. as shown below on the highlighted section.
  2. Perhaps add image here

  3. After entering your User ID, press the Register button
  4. The extension will now be registered and activated to automatically collect your activity on Perplexity AI.

Why is the extension not accepting my ID?

You must input the same User ID in the survey and the extension fields in order to activate the extension.

Please ensure that the ID you put in the News Evaluation Extension Plugin is exactly the same as the User ID used in the survey

How do I remove the extension from my Chrome browser?

You can remove the extension from your Chrome browser in two ways.

First, you can remove it through the Chrome browser:

  1. Go to the extension menu in your Chrome browser, located next to the address bar (puzzle piece icon).
  2. From the extensions menu, you will see News Evaluation listed. Select the three dots next to the extension name to reveal a submenu. The submenu provides the option Remove from Chrome… to uninstall the extension.

Alternatively, visit the News Evaluation listing on the Chrome webstore. Click the Remove from Chrome button in the top right corner
